It is part of the Mary River wetlands and is a wildlife experience not to be missed. Corroboree Billabong is Darwin's closest wetland cruise option and you can either drive yourself to the cruise(75 - 90 minutes) or take a half day tour from Darwin. « less

Nestled somewhere between Darwin and Kakadu is the Corroboree Billabong Wetland Cruises. They offer return transfer shuttles from the local tavern – handy for those unable to travel the dirt road to the boat (we had a hire car). Some dramas when we missed the bus/cruise due to a communication problem and being down the wrong end of the tavern. I... More

Paul and Henry gave so much of themselves and were so knowledgeable of the roads, habitat etc. It was a half day tour which suited us with our limited time we had.The lunch was sensational. Fresh, tasty and so generous. The content of the cruise was absolutely natural - no touristy retail spin at all. My three female friends and I were... More

Having extended my time in Darwin to go on this cruise,I was very grateful at how accomodating Paul and Simmone were when it turned out I was the only person on that tour. It was so worth going on, a beautiful, magical place and the knowledge and passion that the guides share and impart is fantastic. The flora and fauna... More

I took the short (1 hour) cruise en route to Jabiru. Should have done a longer one! Yes, there are lots of birds and crocs but, for me, the plant life - especially the lotus water lillies - were prolific and so inspiring! Definitely worth a visit! More

Our first trip there was very successful. We saw many saltwater and fresh water crocodiles and also Jabiru as well as many other birds. To finish the trip we saw a large area of water lillies. Great commentary throughout on the boat. Highly recommended. More

We went on a one hour cruise at the very end of the wet season and the billabong was teeming with life. Loads of birds, crocodiles on the banks and Paul was a very knowledgeable guide, stopping and getting up close with jabiru and other animals so everyone could see. The road to the billabing is dirt but wasn't too... More

This trip is so worth it. We saw 35 bird species, 2 types of crocodiles and some Agile Wallabies. But more importantly, we saw so many Jabirus, Pied Herons, Egrets that we were able to get to know their habits and take some great photos. The Guide was excellent - he really loved his job and was so enthusiastic. My... More

Thanks for your review and glad you loved the cruise. In relation to the plastic packaging on the lunch supplied, these are provided to us by a local supplier in the area. We are currently discussing the possibilities of using more environmentally friendly containers with the supplier. More

We were picked up at our hotel by Paul, the owner of Wetland Cruises, at 6:30 a.m. An early start but well worth getting up for as the morning turned out to be a great experience. The hour plus drive to Corroboree was punctuated by Paul's stories and details about Darwin's history. A stop at a local watering hole allowed... More
