Central station obviously does it's job, however, even though there are signs everywhere, somehow it's easy for first time visitors to get confused with the signage.

Dirty, filthy, unsafe & poorly lit in areas. Infact some areas smell of urine & vomit.

The sandstone architecture of the main station building looks grand, but everything else is rundown and uninspired. Like many major stations, Central attracts quite a few pushers and pickpockets and there's not much in the way of shopping or dining.

It is a lovely structure, the Victorian origins are obvious. The grand concourse remonds one of the many Victorian stations which dot the British colonies. The facilites are fairly standard, signpostig excellent and for strangers getting around is no problem at all.

This is a very busy rail station serving suburban, intercity and country areas. There are elevators or escalators for people carrying suitcases so you don't need to always use stairs.
