His guests get a unique behind the scenes insight into how the best wines of the Hunter Valley are made, with private guided tastings of the top wines at the best & most interesting of the 140+ wineries. Richard conducts the wine tastings, not the sales staff at the wineries, so you are spared the heavy sales pitch of their commercial wines & get to experience many wines not offered to the general public. Morning tea is at the famous Peppers Guesthouse & lunch is at the award winning Muse Cafe. Tours are available ex Sydney or from within the Hunter Valley. « less

We spent a really enjoyable day in Hunter Valley with Richard. Our Hunter Valley experience started with good coffee, balmy sunshine and a great plate of scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam at Pepper's Guesthouse. Having lined our tummies, Richard brought us to Tyrrell's (a working winery with a fantastic family history to boot) where he showed us the... More

This is not your wine tour where your going to over drink, this is an amazing wine to educate and brush up on your wine knowledge. When we made the reservation we told Richard we had our 1 year old who would be joining us and he was completely fine with it and accommodated our day with an infant. We... More

Richard provides an outstanding day of wine tasting. The 11-12 hour experience is concentrated in 2 wineries and a great restaurant, but a taste of more than 20 wines. After the introduction to acquaint us with the sensory steps in wine tasting, we were poured multiple flights of 2 to 3 wines to compare side by side. This was a... More

My wife and I spent three days in Sydney Australia prior to enbarking on a 14 day Australia/New Zealand cruise. We are from California and wanted to experience some of Australia's famous Hunter Valley vineyards conveniently located just outside of Sydney. After doing some research on the internet we came across a writeup on Richard Everett's full day, personally guided... More

I myself am a wine educator, and I recently had the pleasure of joining oenologist Richard Everett who was taking a party of Americans to visit the wineries of the Hunter Valley NSW. While I cannot claim to have been around the vineyards with him, I can only report that while he ferried me to and from the Hunter on... More

I am new to Sydney and was told to visit Hunter Valley. I did a google search for winery tours and came across Richard's page. Once I called Richard to set up the tour, I already got a sense that he was going to be a very personable tour guide, and this wasn't going to be a standard, company-driven tour.... More

A great tour indeed! We are very fortunate to have found this tour at the very last minute. Thanks Richard! It's my family first visit to Australia Sydney and my mum 1st travel out of south east asia! It leaves a deep impression in their mind. Although they have some difficulties understanding english, both my parents can't stop singing praises... More

I recently went on a tour of the Hunter Valley with Richard. After doing some research on the Internet, his background oenology was a real draw. Richard picked me up at my hotel and after a few other quick stops for others on the tour we were headed up toward the Hunter Valley. The tour started with a quick bit... More

I am a lover of fine wines so during our trip to Australia was keen to enhance my knowledge of as many of the wine regions as I could. A trip to the Hunter Valley was therefore an essential part of our time in Sydney. We selected Wine Country Tours from a tourist information booklet. I was attracted by the... More

We were picked up at 7am by Richard in his Wine Country tour mini bus. It was a very comfortable trip, (about 2 hours) and we arrived at Peppers Guest House for morning tea. What a lovely place, we sat out on the porch with lovely linen table cloths and serviettes. The service was excellent and the coffee and dates... More
