A bit of a Sydney 'playground' Palm beach is about an hour or so up the coast and best reached by car. When in area also drop in to the Newport Arms Hotel which a landmark on the Northern Beaches.
Being a life long fan of Home and Away, a visit to Palm Beach aka Summer Bay was a must whilst in NSW. I wasn't dissapointed, the nicest place I visited whilst in Sydney, beautiful beaches, walks, trails and filming taking place on the day I was there. We visited Palm Beach, Sydney in May 2013 and saw some of the many and various locations where the Australian series "Home and Away' are filmed. The area is beautiful, picturesque and relaxing. It gives you a sense of calm strolling along the beach and parks enjoying your self.
One of my favourite places in Australia, well worth the drive, however go midweek if you can to avoid the weekend crush. One side is the beach and the ocean, the other side is beautiful Pittwater. Catch a bus from Wynyard.
Palm Beach is a great place to go and visit. There is plenty of grass for picnics and a cute cafe to grab a snack. The only problem with palm beach is the traffic you may encounter as you are going down the hill, try to avoid peak times.
The beaches, the ambience and the views are all really beautiful. A good selection of restaurants is available. Don't even think about buying a property though-very expensive.
Palm Beach is a fair way out of the city but has a lovely beach and also Pittwater, a large beautiful bay and the mouth of the Hawkesbury river. You can catch a ferry to various places on the other side too.
Palm Beach is at the end of the line going up the coast from Sydney. It finishes at Broken Bay. I took the public bus up to Palm Beach. It took me just over an hour but I went through some great beach suburbs. These Aussies live well here, great lifestyle. Palm Beach is quite, serene, peaceful and worth my...
