I loved everything about the home, the condition, the guides were friendly and experienced, the history and the light lunch we enjoyed at the cafe finished off a great day. Would thoroughly recommend. More

I came to Vaucluse House with my Austen book club and absolutely adored it. With a gorgeous tea room (although questionable service, and they wouldn't let us inside as there was a function later that afternoon) and gift shop, the highlight was the tour around the house itself. One of my friends was able to dress up as a maid... More

On a lovely, sunny April day in Sydney, we took a stroll around Vaucluse House and the beautiful gardens surrounding. Everything was so lush and green and serene that you forget you're in one of Australia's largest cities. The garden is stunning and the park at the back (or across the road on the waterfront) would be fantastic for a... More

The Vaucluse House is about a 45 minute ride on the 325 bus from the Circular Quay. It is worth the trip. The house itself has an interesting background and the staff tours provide much insight into early Sydney history. The grounds are lovely. There are also many interesting birds which may be seen in addition to the trees and... More

we really enjoyed exploring this lovely old house & the pretty grounds. There is plenty of intersting info about the Wentworth family who built & lived in the house in the mid 1800s. The tea rooms were also lovely - not the usual junk food that you seem to get at most venues. All the staff were very cheerful &... More

If you've "done" the usual Sydney Harbour sights - Opera House, Bridge, the Rocks, Darling Harbour, Taronga Zoo, Manly Ferry etc - and maybe need a bit of a break from the usual crowded tourist haunts, I would definitely recommend Vaucluse House for a bit of Australian colonial history. It's also a great place to take visitors to Sydney for... More
