I visited Sydney for the weekend and saw the Archibald Prize collection. It was very thought provoking and a great couple of hours. The gallery has loads of other good stuff worth seeing and lunch at the cafe rounded it off nicely.
Take the time to spend an hour at agnsw. Always lots to see and a mixture of Australian and international art. Some amazing pieces by Smart and Whiteley on show
It doesn't matter how many times you visit here, you're bound to see something you've never seen before. Exhibitions come and go, paintings get regularly moved and changed. The venue combines old and new. The art is striking. Make sure you go to the 4th floor, have a coffee and enjoy the view. The staff scattered around the museum wear "Ask Me" buttons and they truly are there's to help answer questions. Currently this venue is free to the public, take advantage.
A beautiful building in a beautiful part of the world. The surroundings are gorgeous, the artworks sensational. A wonderful place to visit
My husband and I went there with my mother, we wandered through the art gallery before having an exquisite High Tea. I had not expected the food to be such great quality. We will definitely be visiting again!
Really lovely place to visit and enjoy all the beautiful paintings and other forms of art. My favourite is the picture of a woman with a budgie in her mouth, weird and wonderful.
Most of the art is Australian, which is to be expected, but there are few nice surprises. The building itself is a work of art, and you can easily see what you want in an hour.
