Garrison Church lacked the decoration of some other church. The simple design was rich with arched windows and decorated turrets, but in a simple, understated way. Most notable was the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the background. With a wedding taking place, I couldn’t go inside, but the Garrison Church seems to be a nice highlight to the Millers Point area.

The Holy Trinity Anglican Church is more commonly referred to as the Garrison Church which reflect that it was once used as a church of worship for the many regiments that worshipped there.
Made of beautiful sandstone blocks and polished wood interior, the Church has lovely stained glass windows which catch the light beautifully.

Officially named the Holy Trinity Church, this building gets its current moniker because it was the colony's first military church. We visited the interior at the end of our Rocks Discovery tour. This is one of the oldest churches - construction started in 1840. It's a well kept historic building in the Millers Point district (adjacent to the Rocks area, but uphill). If you are walking around the district, certainly stop in.
