This gallery is in the back street of Chippendale and easy walking distance from Central Railway. If you are a visitor or resident of Sydney this needs to be on your "must do " list. This wonderful woman , Judith Neilson and a true philanthropist has created this magnificent oasis in the middle of what is a traditionally semi industrial... More

This totally FREE gallery never ceases to amaze me! A privately run gallery that is four expansive levels of breathtakingly exciting Modern Chinese art like I have never seen before. Sculptures, Paintings , installations and so much more! There is a gorgeous Chinese coffee shop on the ground floor for a lovely break either before or after your visit. Really... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The curation of this exhibition was excellent, the interpretation well written, informed and thus enlightening, and the use of the space inspired. I can't recommend it too highly. Many of the pieces challenged me, and I continue to reflect upon what I experienced. The artists should be thrilled their works are so well displayed. More

This place is a gem, for the innovative art work, the building itself and the tea room. It is a bit hard to find but well worth the effort. There is plent of room inside and is kid-friendly. More

What a surprise packet this is. Hidden away in a narrow inner city laneway stands an amazing old terrace that has been renovated beyond belief. The art on display was moving, entertaining, sombre, and very clever. There is a cheerful bar downstairs, and they serve reasonable although not fantastic snacks, however, you certainly don't come here for the food, you... More

Our B&B hosts recommended we visit White Rabbit and we were very happy we did. WR houses an extensive private collection of contemporary artwork (2000 and after) by artists from mainland China. The works we saw were edgy, thought provoking, and brimming with energy. The gallery itself is a pleasant space well designed for display of contemporary art. We spent... More

To our great delight we were wandering around the back streets of Chippendale looking at property when we stumbled upon this beautiful old building sensitively restored and now operating as a tea house and gallery space. Soaring ceilings , white painted walls. Painted timber beams lends an air of openess and results in lovely plays of light. The show of... More

Having spent a lot of time in China [and its artists] and also just completed a 2 month tour of Europe's most famous galleries, had average expectations. Blew me out of the water. The long term implications of these informative works cannot be overlooked. They change the exhibits regularly. And the staff are fantastic in explaining and providing insights into... More

I haven't been to an art gallery before where the attendants are so knowledgeable and enthusiatic about the art. This is not a stuffy art gallery - so if you have a question there are art students/attendants to help you. I had so much fun here - some pieces are highly amusing and if not all had a wow factor....
