We visited the National zoo and aquarium encounter, this time for the W.O.W tour on the 14th May 2012, and WOW!! This tour is worth a look into, yes it does look costly, but what you get for the $’s a bargain. They have other tours and animal interaction. We had previous done the “Zooventure” tour, and this was the...

BEST ZOO EVER!! I have travelled the world and visited so many zoos, but Canberra is my favourite by far! We did the Meet a Cheetah experience which was a wonderful way to get up close and personal with these beautiful animals. We also fed sun bears, lions and tigers, watched the playful otters and marvelled at all the other...

The best thing about this zoo are the feedings. For only a $10 donation to conservation, you can feed the animals. I've had a brown bear lick porridge off my hand, a tiger take meat from tongs I was holding, and a giraffe eat a carrot from my hand.
It's such a wonderful place.

White lions, lots of baby animals playing, HUGE snakes, great selection of fish. Acquairum is small but a very high standard with natural coral and river settings.

I hear you can feed the lions and have a bear lick honey off your hand. Their white lions are truly magnificent. The staff give very informative talks and...

Great to see during the cooler months when some of the animals are more likely to be awake and moving about. Three white lions are a rarity! the Aquarium is a nice feature also :)

We've visited this 3 or 4 timesin the last year and always find something new. it's not a big zoo, being tucked away at the Eastern end of Lake Burley Griffin, but it's very well landscaped (so feels bigger than it is) and you can get right up close to the animals so you always get to see what you...

Arriving at the zoo, I thought all the negative comments I'd heard from Canberrans were about to come true as the external signage was minimal, and not welcoming at all. $35 entry was a bit steep, but I had come for a once in a lifetime experience - to feed the sun bears - this was an extra $50 for...
