Floriade is the same every year...designs mean nothing unless you see them from the air. How about a different concept re the layout? I like the idea of the night openings, but it should be on for longer.

It was a splendid sight of Beautiful Tulips. A good photographic opportunity.
I was under the impression it was Tulip fields, but it was just Tulips grown in exhibition ground .Still very beautiful.
There were couple of rides and eat outs not great though.
Tip - we had great difficulty in getting the parking. So it is better to reach...

Floriade is nice, but it's modest in size, so if you're coming from Melbourne or Sydney you need to remember that it's Canberra-scale. It's also dominated by tulips, so if you're from Melbourne and you've been to Tesselars, you'll probably be disappointed. Whilst you have to pay for Nightfest (whereas during the day Floriade is free) I think Nightfest is...

I've been to Floriade many times and there is always plenty to see.......lots of flower beds plus flowering shrubs and annuals to accommodate the weather which doesn't always perform on time.
There are also lots of pavilions filled with plants to buy, gifts and crafts [usually hand-made].

beautiful display of flowers, coordinated brilliantly with other displays. A must see on your sprint tour of the nations capital. Wander around the gardens put in specially for this event.

Parking can be difficult but is comparatively cheap to other cities in Australia. There is a fair walk from the car parks so disabled access...

Pick a nice sunny day, loads of photo ops. Do try and make it during the week as weekends can be very busy. It is worth the effort.

We visit Floriade almost every year and last year was no exception. The weather at this time of year can be a bit hit and miss but on a beautiful day, the water in the lake glistens and the flowers are every colour of the rainbow. My advice is to bring your own food and drink and have a picnic....

Maybe I've been spoiled by other garden shows... and gees, I can't complain about the price (free), but a whole bunch of tulips in the shape of fruit or a ladybug didn't really get me going. The kids tent was good, though, and went there a few times during Floriade.
