I love this place - it's at Tidbinbilla, about 25 minutes out of Canberra, just enough to feel that you've left the city well behind. There's not a great deal to actually do - a small museum tospace exploration which probably takes less than half an hour to visit and a small cafe with childrens'playground attached.

The exhibition was ok but it was not enough to make me want to return. There were only a few really interesting items, etc.

The museum is cluttered with all sorts of strange and interesting things related to space travel, manned and unmanned. There is a monitor listing exactly which missions are being monitored when by the big dishes scattered about the facility. And there is a cafe!

Essentially it is a functional communications centre for spacecrafts run by CSIRO for NASA. The antenna dishes form part of the NASA Deep Space Network with the other centres in Spain and California. The exhibition in the centre has displays of early space flights which is quite informative. There is a moonrock specimen and a Martian rover on display.

A lovely drive in beautiful countryside to get to this complex and then bang out of nowhere is this enourmous satellite dish which looks so surreal. Very informative and great to see.

Visited with wife and 25 year old son. We all found it interesting and quite scenic. It made a nice addition to our visit to the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. Don't get a coffee.

This interesting complex is a great day out for the kids and adults alike.
Lots of play equipment for the little ones, while the bigger ones and adults can see the exhibits on display inside the complex, why, there is even a host to explain the telescopes and their functions to you.

not fabulous in terms of hands on stuff but love the playground for kids with cafe inside for parents - great when you need a break.
