Anzac Parade is stunning and this memorial is amazing. It took a while for Australia to welcome the troops home from Vietnam but they did it in style with this memorial. More

Whether or not you agreed with that awful war or, indeed, any war, there is no escaping the feeling that you have as you stand before this memorial and read some of the names of those who paid the ultimate price. The Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial is a spiritual place that artistically conveys the context and conflicting emotions of Vietnam. It is a beautiful memorial of marble, and water, and the names of all the servicemen who sacrificed their lives encased in a circle high above. So there is peace here. As a "national serviceman" myself I was honoured to be involved in the construction of this truly wonderful tribute to our forgotten war. Note ! I didn't serve in Vietnam I recall that Jim (the PM on the project) was an absolute perfectionist. A monument that all Australians past, present and the future should be extremely proud.
