We are the only boat with "Croc Cam"; a digital video with a very good zoom for showing hard to see animals on a big screen. Wildlife includes Salt Water Crocodiles, snakes, frogs, and birds and also interpretation of the mangrove environment. « less

Go on this cruise for a pleasant, quiet, relaxing time on the river. We enjoyed learning about crocodiles and the mangroves, the low-key cruise and the beautiful river. Due to the hype of a larger-than-life model of a crocodile at the kiosk and talk about "Elizabeth" and "Scarface" along the way, however, it was hard not to be disappointed when... More

Obviously, it is wildlife so we cannot guarantee the appearance of the larger crocodiles on every cruise. Weather, tide and luck do play a part. Maybe we talk about them a little too much and raise the expectations, but it helps guests get an idea of the population and their territories. We do offer a free repeat cruise at any... More

We took this cruise as it was included in an overall day trip of the Daintree and we were so glad we did! This is a small operator who uses a solar powered boat which is so quiet it seems like you are just floating along. Matt was our guide and took a lot of trouble to find and point... More

My wife and I ook the Daintree River tour on 11 Apr 2012. We chose this tour specifically because of the electric boat. As advertised, it was quiet. Both the lady at the kiosk and Dave, the boat skipper, were friendly and welcoming. Dave did a great job on the water, We saw two larger crocs (about 2 m) and... More

We went on the Solar Whisper on 27th Feb as part of the Daintree Discovery Tour day and I'm so glad we did. Our guide, presumably David, was great - full of information and knowledge about the places to go to see baby crocs (no big crocs were out that day) and showed us footage of crocs from a couple... The boat uses solar power and electric engines to run. Besides being eco-friendly, the boat is very quiet and unlike some of the other boats in the area, does not scare away the wildlife as it cruises by. The guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer everyone's questions. He also had on a fantastic hat. We got to... More

It was a great set up, and a really enjoyable cruise. David our guide was excellent and whilst everything was against us for croc spotting - high tide, hatching season (so all females were on land protecting their eggs) we still managed to find a 1 year old croc on the edge of the river plus other bird life. Would... More

We did the cruise today and very much liked it: Electric motors instead of noisy motors make the experience unique. The animals are not disturbed by the engine and not scared away. The guide is very knowlegable and does a great job! I would highly recommend it. More

We chose this trip on price ($50 Aus dollars) and it fitted in with our schedule ( about an hour in the middle of the day). It was great to see a small scale local chap running a really well matched trip for our needs. Our daughter is 7, and this type of trip was great. A small boat, with... More

What came through very quickly on this trip was the complete respect that our guide had for the river system and it's inhabitants. He did his very best to ensure we had a good trip while always considerate of the animals that we were looking for. Small tours like this live or die by the quality of their guides, and... More
