This beach is the definition of paradise. The trees make it just different enough from the Big Islands' other beaches to be a cut above in beauty.

Puako Bay is great for snorkeling and diving if you are experienced. Entries can be a bit difficult if the waves are coming in strongly. Nice place to have a picnic under the trees. Just enjoy the older cottages and churches as you drive to the beach accesses.

You will have to drive a ways from Kona, but it's well worth your time to come here. Try to make it mid-week so it isn't so crowded. Small parking lot so come before 10 a.m. to get a good spot.
