The wild life this park is so unique. We saw wild orang utans as well as proboscis monkeys and hornbills and king fishers. The rivers are a peaceful means of transport. More

Personally, I was really looking forward to explore one of the river that runs through dense forest in Borneo on a boat for 3 days and 2 nights. It's like Jennifer Lopez in Anaconda, the movie :p. And I'd get to see Orangutans!! I got more ecstatic because I never spent nights on a slow-moving boat before. It's like cruising... More

Difficult walking for old, arthritic lady, but well worth it. Orangutans are amazing animals, and one can see them up close and personal More

I recently went to the park and had a 3 night 4 day trip up to Camp Leakey on a klotok with some friends. It was a delightful slow paced trip which took in 3 feeding stations for the semi wild orangutans. Seeing these majestic creatures in their habitat is something I'll never forget. I even got to hold the... More

We have just returned from a 4 day trip on a klotok to the Tanjung Puting National Park which was fantastically well-organised by Wild Orangutan Tours. Our guide Sabrie was hugely knowledgeable and ensured we got up-close encounters with the orangutans as well as all the other wildlife in the park - proboscis monlys, macaques, crococdiles, monitor lizards, all varieties... After sending out dozen of requests for Orangutan Borneo tour to various tourist agencies and tour operators, we chose the one, which among other things as item no. 10 included – „a smile“. We knew that was the right choice - Ahmad Yani and his agency Orangutan Travel. At that time there was only one (and positive) review on entire... More

Ever since seeing the documentary "Born to be Wild" which featured Dr. Galdikas and her lifetime's work with the orangutan's at Camp Leakey, we have wanted to visit this amazing park. Wild Orangutan tours is very well organized and took care of everything. Our guide, Sabrie, was always helpful and pleasant to be with. Our klotok or riverboat was very... More

We booked a tour to Camp Leakey from Pankalan Bun with Harry Saputra after reading reviews here harnovia@yahoo.com His itinerary was good and the price great for 3N/4D trip. His guide Ami met us at the airport and couldn't do enough for us from that point until he dropped us off at the airport again after the 4th night in... More

It is like a lost piece of paradise! We enjoyed our tour with Orangutan Foundation International (OFI) It was informative and eye opening. the efforts done by them are mazing in trying to preserve this area from loggers and use it to release ex captive orangutans into the wild where they should be. One thing i found out and i... More

An amazing experience. Tonsee orangutans, this is the best and least expensive way. An online air ticket from most major cities in Java can be bought for less than 100 Euros. The trip itself has to be experienced to be believed. There's little need to book in advance ax 40 boats are available for hire in Kumai and crews can... More
