We found the grave of a relative which was very moving, we attended the dawn service on Anzac Day, although bitterly cold I felt surprisingly warm inside, was very well organised (we even booked a shuttle from Australia to take us to the service from Amiens) It was a very emotional visit Australains saved that town & were pivitol in... Visiting the memorial for the ANZAC Day dawn service was very special. However, a visit any day of the year is a must if you are in the area. The memorial itself an impressive structure. The number of names of the missing along with the graves of those buried in the cemetery are very moving. More

This is a must see, the town has lots of charm and they love the Aussie's, if you get a chance call into the museum but it does close on Sundays. It is only a short trip out to the memorial and there is plenty of parking. Once there take your time to look at all the grave stones the... More

Although we've all heard about WW1 soldiers and the battles they were in, it's not until you stand at a place like this that you truly understand what they really went through...hell. This memorial is dedicated to the Australians at war and it was an honour to commemorate a lost uncle of a friend. Keep an eye out at many... More

Booked online with Terresdememoire for a 2 day tour of Australian WW1 battlefields in Flanders and the Somme. We were picked up from Amiens railway station (max 8 people) and with a qualified guide covered Villers Bretonneux, Victoria school, Poziers, Bullecourt, Frommelles, Hill 60, Menin Gate, Passchendale, plus others. Finished off the tour with the Last Post service at Menin... More

We spent some time walking around this memorial. At least the Australian Government has it right, keeping the grounds in perfect condition along with our French family. Very interesting reading all about our Anzac on the Western Front. More

This impressive memorial - The Australian National Memorial - is 10-15 minutes drive from Amiens and on the D23 between Villers-Bretonneux and Corbie. It is well signed from the D1029 from Amiens and worth a visit at any time of the year . In days of yore you had to obtain the key, to ascend the tower, from the gendarmerie... More

I went to VB a few days ago. The War Memorial is definitely worth going to see. It's a few kilometres out of town on the way to Corbie. While you're in the area make sure you visit the war museum in VB. It's upstairs in the hall built with the help of Australians. The school we built is right... More
