Spirit of the West has started a fire burning that can only be quenched with some more saltwater! I can only speak in superlatives about the trip and the company. It was my first ever kyak trip and I went solo and felt totally comfortable, safe and included. The first night I woke to the sounds of the Orcas blowing... More

We spend 3 nights and 4 days on the Johnstone Straight Ultimate tour and thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. Four days of Glamping in the wild. The trip was very well organised, lots of little touches that made the trip special (not going to spoil all the surprises here). The camp is on a beautiful location, very nicely set up. Camping with... More

My new Wife and I decided to make a kayaking tour with SOW part of our honeymoon this year. Although sleeping in the wilderness and eating camp food does not tick most of the conventional Honeymoon boxes we both came away knowing we could not have made a better choice. We took the Johnstone Straight Expedition trip out of Telegraph... More

We had an awesome trip on the Johnstone Straight Ultimate. This company pays attention to detail from warm muffins on the water taxi up to hot water bottles for your sleeping bag! We saw lots of wildlife (eagles, sea lions, porpoising pod of dolphins, and whales!) The guides were very knowledgeable and paid attention to each guests needs. Nice variety... More

With my son I joind the "Johnstone Strait Ultimate Tour" in August, a 4 day / 3 nights seakayak trip with basecamp. It was a fabulous trip! Very professional organization. Equipment of high grade, guides excellent (3 guides for a group of 13), food was unbelievable, 4-person-tents for 2 (standard) set on a wooden platform and under an additional shelter.... More

First of all - I want to note that this review is for the Johnstone Strait Expedition Tour (NOT the Ultimate base camp tour). The Expedition tour is the 5 night / 6 day trip where you switch camp sites each day. While the Expedition tour does not have the warm shower luxury of the Ultimate tour - it was... More

I visited camp on the Ultimate Johnston Strait tour in July 2011. I love camping, but this was something else. The tents were all rooms with a view, very comfortable and we had a fantastic hot shower in the forest. Ryan and Robin looked after us like Kings and Queens and worked from the moment they got up to the... More

Greetings! Just returned home after our 4 day Johnstone Strait trip...It was the best vacation EVER!!! We saw a lot of wildlife everyday...Orcas. Humpback Whales. Porpoises. Dolphins. Sea lions. Eagles....even Black Tailed deer. The food was fantastic! I would not be surprised if we gained weight on our trip. Best of all were our guides. Ryan, Mattias, Tara and Pat... More

We did the Johnstone Strait Ultimate Adventure. It was amazing from start to finish. First of all, we lucked out with the weather and only saw fog and a little rain the last day. The camping was awesome. Basically, luxury camping in the most beautiful, peaceful setting. The kayaking was great. Saw a TON of wildlife. Though no Orcas until... More
