The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Cuvée Gold (2011) and two consecutive top-10 finishes at the Canadian Wine Awards. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. A visit to the wood-clad winery, or joining their mailing list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines. « less

Stopped at the location on a wine tasting trip. Purchased several different varieties of white wines. Would make another special trip/drive to go back again. This time I would buy a case of my favourite. More

We visited Thirty Bench upon recommendation from a friend who is sommelier at a fine dining establishment in Ottawa, and were definitely not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the staff, and taken to the back for our private tasting of the full portfolio of wines. What a treat! The view of the vineyard from the winery is stunning, and... More

Thirty Bench makes wonderful wines. I think they make some of the best red blends that Ontario has to offer. The staff are very welcoming and the view is fantastic! More

What a great idea! Unfortunately not enough snow..... So we hiked. They made the best of it.... And it was worth the 25 dollars. Great couple hours out with a loved one, taste different lots along the hike, end it off with delicious soup by the fire! I cant think of a better way to spend a cold afternoon. Very... More

The tasting experience is great. They take the time to explain the different wines, suggest food pairings, and never rush you. Some of the best reds in the area, and wonderful, refreshing whites. You will pay more for the wine here than in some of the wine boutiques in NOTL, but it is well worth it. Some of my favorites... More

As members of Peller Estates, we get to have free tastings at it's sister wineries - Hillebrand and Thirty Bench. Thirty Bench is actually in Grimsby rather than Niagara on the Lake. We learned that you can't really just drop in, as they have a small winery and small team. In order to make you feel welcome, educated and looked... More

We stopped by Thirty Bench after having their wine at Spencer's at the Waterfront in Burlington. The vineyard is beautiful as the backdrop across Lake Ontario is the city of Toronto. We were able to walk through the vines and take some lovely photos with our children. In the store, we were told about picnics and other special events they... More

We have been making an annual pilgrimage to the Beamsville/Twenty Bench/Grimsby area wineries for several years, and our trip would not be complete without a visit to Thirty Bench Wine Makers. An off-shoot of Pellers Estates, this smaller winery is warm, welcoming and wonderful. Their wines are terrific. Period. Their tutoured wine tastings are absolutely worth the small sum charged...
