Went early morning jaunt to this little folk museum. Lots of interesting things and a great variety for just about any taste. I liked the traveler's wagon, esp., and I have to say that I learned a great deal from all of the exhibits, plus the owner is well-versed in the history of the exhibits and artifacts. Small, sweet place... More

Bernard, the man in charge of this place, knows almost everything you could want to know about Irish History. This is the only museum in Ireland that houses exhibits about the three major historical periods, not to mention literal tons of statues that were once destroyed but put together again, the last tinker's wagon to be lived in, and genuine... The exhibits and artifacts Bernard has collected give an insight into some of the most important periods of Irish history. If you are somewhat familiar with the periods and events represented, the exhibits will give you a deeper understanding. If you are not familiar, it is a good introduction, and will probably make you want to learn more. The village... More

Went to see this over May Bank Holiday weekend. Very enjoyable experience. Although the area of the village/museum is small, there is an incredible amount packed into it. Bernard, the owner has acquired a fantastic amount of memorabilia from Ireland's history, to include the famine and the 1916 Rising amongst others. Bernard himself is a mind of information and was... This is one man's museum. He collected stuff he thought was important, pulled it together, labeled it. The gypsy wagon is cool. The information of the Easter Rebellion and the Famine is interesting. Not a place the big tours will go to, not professionally curated - but worthwhile! More

A visit here added to a memorable visit to the Rock of Cashel. As a group of 7 with ages ranging from 9 to 76 we were all fascinated by the breadth of history contained in this museum. Well worth a visit, and the informal nature is perfect for browsing and reflecting on such a past. More

I'm so glad I went into this little gem of a place. Bernard is a walking talking history book, full of knowledge about the history of Cashel as well as Ireland. The place itself is small, but full of interesting pieces and information Entrance fee is 5 euro and in my opinion well worth it, I will probably go back... More

We visited the folk village and thought it was amazing. I was tracing my family in Cashel and Bernard is an amazing fountain of knowledge about mostly everything and anyone connected to Cashel. He certainly helped me decipher my Irish past. I think the museum itself was very informative and eye opening for people who have been brought up with... More
