This 95 minute historical walking tour of Kinsale is definitely worth the 7 Euros. We were grateful that Kinsale was the first stop on our trip because Don included so many fascinating facts about Irish history as well as the growth and significance of Kinsale. He is both entertaining and knowledgeable with a gift of regaling his guests.

Don took us on a terrific tour through this beautiful, very historic town. This very interesting journey back in time was the highlight of our visit. It was very walkable and proceeded at a slow pace that will accomodate anyone. Don't miss this tour!

This walking tour was one of the most interesting experiences of my two weeks in Ireland. Our guide not only knew the detailed history of Kinsale, he was able to make it relevant and fascinating to those of us that knew nothing about the area. What a great story teller. I first read about Don and Barry in Rick Steves--who... More

This was one of the best tours we had during our visit to Ireland. Don was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the region. Be sure and book this tour as soon as you arrive in Kinsale. Cheryl Atlanta, Georgia USA

When visiting Kinsale, we were treated to a fascinating journey through the history of the town, its strategic importance in the English wars with Spain and France, and the true events that inspired Daniel Defoe to write "Robinson Caruso." Barry was a very engaging fellow and showed us so many interesting places that it was hard to imagine discovering all... More

Our walking tour with Barry was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. It is amazing how much history the little town of Kinsale has seen. And Barry makes it all come alive--with the perfect amount of detail and endless fun facts and anecdotes. We wimpy (warm-weather) Texans were also appreciative of his concern for keeping our group in the... More

sadly, this Historic Stroll was one of the last things we did before leaving town. I think we would have enjoyed our stay even more if we had all of Barry's history and story and recommendations when we first arrived. Always nice to see someone doing just what he loves to do. Our trip was 'interrupted' by the parade to... More

Barry was our guide. He greeted everyone individually and showed genuine interest in each person before we set off on one of the best "field trips" I've ever experienced. He has a gift for telling history like a story that holds you spellbound. He's done this many times, I'm sure, but it does not come across "canned" at all. He... More

I was part of a small group in a tour led by Barry. He did a fantastic job helping us to understand how the sites we saw in Kinsale linked to Irish history and world history. He was fun to listen to and he was positive and responsive to everyone in the group. Don't come to Kinsale without taking his... More
