Irish history buffs must come to Clonakilty and walk where Michael lived and fought for his country's independence. More

In July we drove down a narrow road and found the centre and its small car park. From the look of it I expected a ten to fifteen minute diversion from our main purpose, which was to visit Kinsale. My (English) husband and I (midwest American, no Irish blood in either of us) joined the lecture which I thought had... More

I would really love to give a glowing review. I can really see the effort that has gone into this place. Sadly however, it was freezing cold and ultimately not enough to interest. It is too much of a niche interest, perhaps only to Irish historians. It's not expensive, that's not the trouble. More

Very detailed lecture on Michael Collins with supporting documentation and photos/films. Gave a great insight into that period of Irish History in what I would consider to be a completely unbiased manner. Although I thouht I was well informed about the period, I left with a much greater knowledge of Michael Collins and his era Dont miss it More

On a cold and dreich day, rained of the golf course, driving around the Clonakilty area, we pitched up at the Michael Collins Heritage Centre - up a narrow single track road, nearly hidden in the hills, we came upon this home knitted cottage industry celebrating the life of the Big Fella. The knowledge and passion of the expert presenters... More

We travelled to the centre while on holiday in Cork. It was certainly the best visitor attraction we visited. The centre/theatre is in an old cottage and is filled with maps, photos, millitaria and all sorts of mementos in relation to Michael Collins and the time he lived. We missed the R600 turn off and travelled the 2km into Clonakilty... More
