Tucked away in a quiet corner on Culver Road Saltash is a remarkable surviving example of a small domestic dwelling from the Tudor age. The cottage was reputedly once the home of Mary Newman the first wife of Sir Francis Drake. The cottage has been carefully restored by the Tamar Protection Society.

Born 2 miles away, just talk often to a gentleman who volunteers his time to greet visitors. And now 5,000 miles away, I'd like to SEE it. like to read of some of its content..AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT !

Lovely peaceful garden, it was such a lovely day. The garden has great views over the river to Devon, in the shadow of Brunels Royal Albert Bridge. We enjoyed the free teas !
