Cloughjordan House sits on 8 acres of lands which includes a former walled garden. The Cookery school is Sarah Baker's passion, coming from her Argentinian father's love of fresh, "real" food. Her creativity is a product of years of experimenting, combining flavours and travel, combined with some well-loved staples from home. The Cookery School is currently providing hugely popular educational tours for students, focusing on a farm to fork experience where students harvest, cook and eat. The school also runs a number of foodie activities including pop up dinners, special guest chefs and bespoke cookery classes. « less

Baby kid goats were the first sight that greeted me as I arrived at Cloughjordan House and things got better from there. My room was spacious and the duvet could not have been more comfy and cosy. The hosts were fantastic - from youngest to older than youngest - and the food was delicious. I particularly appreciated knowing the bacon... More

We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Peter, Sarah and Sam couldn't have been more helpful and interesting to get to know. After being met at the train station, we had wonderful homemade soup. When they realized we wanted to visit Moneygal, they drove us there after dinner to visit the pub President Obama had been. They... More

A perfect gateway to Galway, My husband & I went to Ireland in Sept for his 50th. We toured on motorcycles and this was our first night stay. A real Irish welcome. We arrived to french pressed coffee, then an excellect dinner and great conversation. The house was just fabulous, the grounds are a working farm and the surrounding town is... More

A high point of our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Baker family and their pets. Our room was huge and the bath even had a sauna. Meals were terrific...can't say enough good things about our stay!!!! Hope to return soon. More

I was fortunate enough to have the experience of cooking in Cloughjordan House March Last. I took my Father to the ‘cooking for groups class’ as a gift for his 60th birthday. As a lover of food and a keen interest in Cooking I was overwhelmed with the professional display of dishes and baking on offer. The class was very... More

I was fortunate to stay at historic Cloughjordan House in Cloughjordan, Ireland after Christmas. This unique old stone house - well, it's more like a manor house than a regular house really - was conveniently located in the village (I walked everywhere). When I arrived, Sarah Baker had prepared little mince pies that I snacked on - delicious! My room... More

We had an absolutely wonderful overnight stay at Cloughjordan House and two delightful meals in Sarah's kitchen. Cloughjordan House was one of our stops during our 7 day vacation in Ireland and while we have many many fine memories of our trip, Cloughjordan was definitely one of the highlights. Sarah is charming, a very welcoming host and an excellent cook.... More

I have recommended this cookery school to lots of friends. A wonderful warm welcome. The cooking session was relaxed and informative with lots of opportunity for discussion on the ingredients and method. All food was sourced locally and the vegetable were picked fresh from the garden. We ate the lovely meal in a relaxed atmosphere and after several glasses of... More
