We visited the base on a Tuesday and got to see the exhibition and submarine but all other sections are only open on a Sunday! I suppose I should have done better homework before going!

We were staying in Benodet and went here on a rainy/cloudy day. We booked an english tour of the U-boat docks (started at 12, and we arrived at 10 so went to the Geant supermarket cafe before heading back for the tour). It was really interesting, and lasted 90 minutes which was a little too long for our 3 boisterous...

Very interesting and set in the back drop of the WW2 U-Boat repair pens in Keroman.
Probably the easiest submarine walk-through museum for those with difficulty getting about - there are stairs in and out of the submarine but it is not so restricted inside as you would expect.
English audio tours are available.
Try and go when it's quiet...

Arrived at the booking office, it all looked a little complicated with various tours and various combinations of tours but the english speaking rep helped us through it. Travelled with two children (5 & 7yrs), who we thought would be bored but were facinated with the guided tour and enchanted by the charming tour guide who spoke very good English....

Visited this Sub base with 10 year old son, 8 year old daughter...husband was the only one looking forward to it...but it was truley interesting and fascinating.
