We has a great time here at the end of the summer season. It wasn't too busy and the views from the top were magnificent. Such beautiful views all around and you can even see over to the Austrian Alps on a clear day. There is a big cafe/restaurant at the top of the 12 min gondola ride which was...

Most of the reviews about this place are ski related, but we visited at summer time (august). The lifts are so lovely at summer time, shining in bright red when they take you up to the mountain top. They've scattered beach chairs on the thin grass, so you can relax on the top of the world and watch all the...

The top of the lift lands one on a knoll face-to-face with the monolithic Sassolungo, by itself a fantastic Doiomites scene. There are long views to surrounding peaks and valleys, a look down at St. Cristina and Ortisei, easy walking trails for all ages, and a quite passable alpfelstrudel at the self-service cafe. This is not only a ski destination...

Went for a week skiing and thoroughly enjoyed the varied terrain of runs and the way all the lifts were joined up to make a fabulous ski area - the highlight being the Sella Ronda.
The village itself was very clean and the hotels and bars were immaculate. Not cheap to eat and drink, but there was a great atmosphere...

Skiing was amazing all over Val Gardena, this was one of the best ski resorts.

First, the three little towns-or villages- Ortisei, Selva and St.Cristina are beautiful, just like in a fairytale. I couldn't tell which is the most charming.
In Ortisei you have the pool...

We stayed in Val di Fassa and went couple of times to Val Gardena. The first time we did green Sella Ronda so Ciampinoi was at the end of the trip. We selected to go thru slope 5 (red) and it was definitely wrong choice and a disaster. The slope was completely broken. My girlfriend is the beginner and at...

We were there when the weather was very cold (-20c at night, -5c by day) but it was clear and sunny and the snow was exquisite. Its a great mountain for intermediate skiiers (and down the back to Seceda a little more challenging). Plenty bars and 'rifugi' for breaks and a fast chairlift.
This is a perfect area for a family ski vacation! Slopes are close to the hotels and apartments. Food is good and prices are reasonable considering the area where you are.
