What a wonderful garden. We went on a Sunday in May. Beautiful weather for spending a couple of hours wondering around this exquisite garden. Could have spent all day here but unfortunately you are limited to the tours. The scenery, plant, ruins, waterways and roses are spectacular. Difficult to get to but well worth the effort. If getting the train... More

We (Grandma, Grandad, Mummy, Daddy & 8 year old Daughter) went to Ninfa in early April and the cherry trees were all in bloom, the sun was out and the sky was blue. This garden is unlike any that we have been to before as the setting is stunning. With the hill towns of Norma and Sermoneta looking down on... More

La Ninfa, located south of Rome, is a dream garden, not to be missed if you love flowers, plants, and history. Built on the ruins of a medieval town, it is a heavenly vision of tumbling roses over ruins and arches, pure streams with banks of calla lilies, and simple beauty in every aspect of this magical garden. Worth a... More

This is one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. If you like nature, plants, flowers and historical buildings this is the place for you. An abandoned Medieval village surrounded by amazing trees, flowers and a botanical garden. You can still see old bridges, churches and the ruins of the main city wall immersed in... More

This is the most beautiful garden that we have seen, and has been said to be the most romantic in the world! Ninfa, surprisingly, is pretty well in the middle of nowhere; this gem is a few miles from Sermoneta (which itself is a beautiful quiet village that we also visited- wish we could spend more time there) located about... On our recent tour through Italy, we were privileged to visit the Boboli gardens, Villa d'Este, La Foce and Ninfa. And the greatest of these is Ninfa. We were also "Monty Don tourists", and the gardens lived up to the praise he lavished on the gardens. It requires an early start by train from Rome to the southern town of... More

BBC Garden guru Monty Don claimed in his recent mini-series 'The Gardens of Italy' that, in an area full of wonderful gardens, Ninfa was probably the most romantic in the world. Thats one helluva boast. And its true. Whether you simply enjoy flowers or if you are a serious shutterbug, this is one place that you won't soon forget. Just... More

The garden combines mediaeval ruins with beautiful gardens. It's only open occasionally, there's a long queue to get in (I waited about an hour), you can only go on a guided tour and the tour is only in Italian. But despite all of these factors, the experience was totally worth it. One of the absolute highlights of my trip to... More

An old toll town which was burned down by the owners rather than fall into papal hands. it is phenomenal - a must visit place.
