The coast in and near Cefalu is absolutely beautiful. There is sand and small surf for the beach crowd, and gorgeous scenery for the rest of us.

Cefalu coast is best in Sicily in terms of location and sand. The sandy beach is in the town center and what is most important - you do not need neither to go down nor to go up to reach it by cable car like in Taormina.
One of the only pure sandy beaches We came across on holiday. But even in April there were Too many tourists for me. It is a Lovely looking town, with buildings coming down To the sea, narrow lanes, cobbled streets, amazing backdrop etc.
A beautiful coastal town with a clean sandy beach and postcard scenery. Calm and tranquil. Narrow cobbled streets are studded with small shops. There is a Norman-style church and a Cloister with Byzantine motifs in the main square.

Drove through Cefalu on way to Messina ferry. Nice seaside town with a good beach. Walkway along beach front allowed for strolling with a great sea view. Shops seemed a little modern and catered for tourists. Nice seaside experience.
If you're tempted to simply get to your next destination, pause and consider taking a bit more time to do it. We took an automotive "stroll" and were very happy to have taken in the coast between Cefalu and more-or-less Messina. These are sleepy little towns with awesome views.
Beautiful little town right on the coast. People fishing, sitting on the beach and enjoying the sun. We found a nice little restaurant and had a wonderful Italian lunch. Spent time wandering and enjoying the shops. Well worth a look.
What a lovely little place this was we took train from Palermo very interesting place lovely cathedral and very interesting cloisters lots of history beautiful little streets and interesting little buildings the usual tourist traps but away from main area we found a lovely little cafe La Botte.
A climb to the top of mountain in town is well worth...
