Fascinating site with breathtaking views, A visit to the Polish War Cemetery is also a must as it is a reminder about the battles that took place here both during the Second World War and throughout history. I've been twice and recommend it to anyone, the monks singing the mass raised goosebumps and nearly reduced me to tears! An amazing location views etc..just remember it shuts for siesta like many places in Italy. More

This abbey is not far from the Roma-Napoli Autostrada del Sole. Take the Cassino exit and follow the signs for Montecassino. What awaits you, after 4 or 5 miles of hairpin turns climbing the hill, is the great abbey founded by Saint Benedict. We visited the Monastery in Cassino and it was really lovely, well worth putting it on your itinerary. Especially if you have a guided tour. Danila Bracagila was an amazing guide of the Abbey as well as the Cassino area and its war history. More
