The children enjoyed the trip to the beach finding 'fossils' - although not quite the bones and clear ammonites we were expecting they did enjoying being told the 'pebbles' they found were dinosaur droppings! More

Our 3 year old loved this place, excellent. Would be good for older children as well as some of the exhibits would be understood by older ones, although everything was very visual so a younger child can enjoy looking at the fossils. More

This museum is housed in a purpose built premises on Sandown front, just set back from the beach so is a great place to visit if the weather isn't perfect. During our 5 day stay on the Isle of Wight our 11 year old only had 1 real request...to visit Dinosaur Isle, Sandown. We spent about an hour and a half at the attraction and he wasnt disappointed!! Lots of info about locally found fossils and dinos. My son loved it but didn't bother reading all the info, he just wanted to see the dinosaurs. More
