We enjoyed the lovely scenery on the way to Castletown and Port Erin. The train was a blast from the past. Who does not like steam trains?
Went on gala weekend an the top tip would be the evening "beer train" to the far end of the line. A couple of hours there allows time for a beer and a meal plus use the bar on the train on the way back - defo a nice round trip !
A real step back in time, with lovely locos and carriages. Must come back in summer to get off at the various stations en route, but the run to Port erin and back was brilliant. A separate carriage for travellers with dogs we believe is essential. Apart from that we enjoyed the experience....well worth the 1 day card which gives you unlimited travel on the rail/bus/tram.
Lovely scenery. Great destination at Port Erin. Nice friendly staff. Like taking a trip back to the 60s
