Travelled down from Paignton, first day the train was fairly full so they added an extra carriage. The train journey is a bit more business like than some preserved lines, but the views make up for that. We went twice during the week, firstly to walk to NT at Cotehele, then 2nd visit to walk along the coast beyond Dartmouth... More

Great rail journey. Then Bus trip to Totnes(on a windy day make sure you sit on the bottom deck, blooming cold on top deck even on dry day) then lovely boat trip with funny commentary More

I travelled on the Paignton to Kingswear Steam Railway, and although I dont really remember steam trains, it was an enjoyable way to travel. The train finishes at Kingswear, but there is a ferry boat across to Dartmouth every 15 minutes, and the view from the Kingswear side to Dartmouth is quite good. There is a nice pub on the... More

It was just like the old days - steam trains and ferries. And the smells that remind me of my childhood! More

A wonderful day out, especially when the weather is fine. Nostalgic steam rail trip, a ferry ride, followed by the River Dart trip. The Dart river trip was amazing, and made especially so by Steve's commentary. Definitely recommended. More

The Paignton to "Kingswear" Dartmouth Steam Train is a nostalgic journey back in time, with amazing scenery along the way. The service runs frequently throughout the year, but does terminate and has had some fantastic upgrades since its last "season", with a new ticket office, cafe, and shop to accomodate the growing number of travellers. This journey steers from Paignton,... More

Take a trip in time on the fantastic steam train. Wonderful experience from kids and adults alike. Dartmouth is one of the most beautil natural places you will ever visit. Can recommend a walk to the castle just to get a full view of the river. More

What a bargain; A trip on the Steam train; ferry to Dartmouth and a 1 hour cruise up the Dart. £19.99. What a packed day of entertainment and a chance to step back in history. This is well worth the trip More
