The woods are a Community resource and all I can say is "The people of Grantown on Spey are very lucky indeed" The woods cover many acres and are alive with red squirrels and birdlife. There are a number of waymarked trails right up to one which is 5 miles long. There is also and All Abilities trail and maps...

Well laid out paths, but a taste of the real country, certainly not an urban park.

Very convenient woodland to explore when staying in Grantown-on-Spey, a good chance of seeing a crested tit, and with a lot of luck you may also catch sight of a capercaillie. Be sure to buy a map of the woods from the BWWC at The Grant Arms Hotel, to save getting lost!

We arrived just before the April snow fall. Walking through the woods just after the snow came was magical.
