Unfortunately we don't get to the santuary as often as we used to, mainly because our aunt who lived nearby died. But the times we did go it was superb the donkeys were well looked after, areas clean and staff friendly and informative, We have sponsored several donkeys over the years and the only complaint was of the cafe which... We are regular visitors to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and I cannot believe the comments made by 'Sue H' in her review on 10th May!! I can only imagine she have mistakenly reviewed the wrong sanctuary!! The Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary is always such a lovely place to visit. The atmosphere amongst the many happy content donkeys always an enjoyable experience.... More

We took my daughters and my parents here in May and it was brilliant. The founder decided nobody shoud have to pay to spend time with these gentle creatures and so the sanctuary doesn't charge admission. And what's more, the gift shop doesn't charge a fortune either and you don't feel pressured to donate anything - in consequence, you really... More

terrible place to visit and for £12.00 each, when people just walked in with out paying, donkeys on chains looking sad, and with skin infections, café not much there, prices sky high, poor elderly donkey looking so sad, it was heart breaking,

Called in here as we were passing and how pleased we did. What a delightful place with plenty to interest people of all ages. Facilities are faultless, staff are helpful and friendly and the donkeys are beautiful. An amazing place doing a wonderful job

If ever I had to be an animal I know now which one it would have to be: a donkey on retreat in the donkey sanctuary. Great place.

The donkeys were well looked after, it was very well run and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The walks were well signed, with easy access.

Visited the Donkey Sanctuary during the early May bank holiday. Very impressed – considering the over-emphasis on activates that cost an arm and a leg, it was refreshing to visit an attraction that technically costs nothing, other than a donation; and in respect of the donation, whilst we did leave a donation, we at NO time felt pressured or expected... I came here loads when I was little and my family had always adopted Megan for me which I had loved so I wanted to visit as an adult. We visited in December so the weather was a bit rubbish and there weren't many visitors. This was great for us though as we could spend ages with the donkeys! This... More
