The lines for the cable car ride were stretched out into the parking lot so we made an impromptu decision to hike to the top. Make no mistake, this is a hike that requires some intense maneuvering up steep rocks and very narrow trials. I suggest a good pair of hiking boots and poles for the trip down, (it could... More

After being in Bergen for 3 weeks and only having 4 blue sky days the 18th May dawned fine and sunny with a temp heading to the mid twenties. Well there was only 1 place to go this day and Mt Ulricken it was! And what a fitting place to be after experiencing a National Day in Bergen Norway. Mt... More

When we were there over Easter everything was shut including the tourist bus which takes you up there, but I’m glad it was because it’s cheaper to get there yourself. Don’t bother paying extra to do a tour bus to get you there. It’s easy to find if you take from the city centre, I believe it was bus 3... More

Stunning panoramic view of Bergen. One of the 7 mountains surrounding Bergen that's easily accessible by a cable car ride. The wind speed is insane at the top, so bring a sturdy windbreaker and careful not to venture too near to the edge!

My girlfriend and I took the "3" bus from Bergen Bryggen to the hospital stop (sorry I forget the actual name). We crossed the small bridge to the other side of the road and made our way up to the cable car. It is a little difficult to find the cable car, due to the construction. It is about a... More

Excellent view over Bergen and surrounding area. The trip up the mountainside with Ulriksbanen was comfortable and a cool experience in and of itself. The view from the top was simply awesome and breathtaking. Highly recommendable if in Bergen. Be warned: buying food and drinks at the top is NOT cheap. If you're travelling as a family you might want... More

At the time of visiting it had recently snowed, and consequently the cable-car up was very busy with people going up to enjoy winter sports. The views from the top are excellent.

Despite the fog, we still went up the mountain in the cable cars to roughly 600m above sea level. Now you see the town, then we didn't, however we still saw magnificent views of the surrounding countryside from the various viewing areas / platforms. Thoroughly enjoyed our hot chocolates and freshly cooked cinnamon buns. We did find the flagstones and... More

I had the opportunity to be there on a snowy weekend, and the view was just beautiful. The mountain is sort of more "wild" and less touristy than Mount Fløyen, but nevertheless worth the trip in any case. You can take the cable cart up to the top, where you'll find a restaurant and a little souvenir shop, and that's... More
