The fortress is a nice tourist attraction, with a splendid view of Trondheim. But the surrounding green areas is what I appreciate the most. It's a very nice place to relax and contemplate. More

The fort park used to be closed. Some years ago they opened it and it has now become a friendly destination for all. The small cafe in this area is usually open. Good coffee and cakes are available at a decent price. More

Just correcting. I live in Trondheim and regard the fort as a nice walk from Trondheim centre. Nice view of the centre of town (west part). University students and locals often use the parks surrounding the fort as a picnic area and for playing football. More

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery and tranquility while you plan your next stop. The famous Cathedral is just downhill across the old bridge. More
