We decided to head to the Prater for our first night in Vienna to check out the Giant Ferris Wheel. We were happy to see that there are also a lot of other carnival type rides, including one featuring Speedy Gonzales and his spinning sombreros. We got there pretty late and wanted to eat first thing, so we stopped at... More

Went today and we were very lucky as the weather was perfect. It is definitely a place for families and people who like the fair. We went just for the ferris wheel glad we did it so we can say we have been. Would we go again? No once is definitely enough, just not to our taste. More

This is the closest you will get to time travel. Going back in time all the way to the real horse Carousel. Dont be confused, you will never forget this experience. p.s. Dont leave without eating at "schweizerhaus" More

As the title says, it was a surprise how big the amusement park was -- entering the area made it look so much smaller, but it just kept on continuing...! There were plenty of interesting attractions and also Madame Tussaud wax museum in the area. What was really nice is that didn't need to buy tickets in advance but instead... More

Yes, it's an amusement park. Yes, it's overpriced and kind of gaudy. But it is a fun place and easy to get to via metro--and free to walk around. The Schweizerhaus restaurant there has surprisingly good food, great service, and the original Budweiser (Budvar) on tap. If you have kids, or kids at heart, they will enjoy walking around and... Plan a picnic in the park, even if you're not one for riding on the rollercoasters. The wheel though is relatively not scary and gives you an amazing view of the city :-) More

Must be getting difficult to please in my old age. Free entrance. Easy access via the subway. The Ferris Wheel provided a nice view, Had a great sit down meal at the Greek place however they charge you 2 euros for extra cutlery. Great place to take the kids, otherwise I would skip this one . More

It's a big ferris wheel. It does offer you a great view of Vienna and the surrounding areas of the Danube. More

Don't miss the giant and classic - Wiener Riesenrad, the great ferris wheel is a wonderful experience. So the entire park, activities for all ages - from Carousels, and bumping cars for the young, till quite scaring roller coasters and other stuff... You get in and pay per activity (and food), what makes it fair and nice, even to just... More
