The Donaukanal is the only waterway passing through Vienna proper - the river is 'outside" of the center of Vienna, so if you want a waterway experience in Vienna this is where you shouldhead. More

I love mother natures views. From the train station up to Donauturm (Danube tower) there are a lovely view of the river. Many seating area available. It is nice to make barbeque next to the river. More
