The indoor facilities were clean and neat, which sometimes is not present in other zoos I’ve visited. The zoo is situated next to the Schönbrunn complex, which is nice to visit. A wide variety of animals, the feeding time is given, so there is a chance to observe the animals feasting.
I especially liked the penguins display, where you could...

All the animals seemed contented, was disapointed in only seeing one panda. Lots of areas for having picnics. We had coffee and one of the best ever banana splits in the cafe near the Orangutans.
Surprisingly large, easy to reach as it is located right next to Schönbrunn. Somewhat absurd to see rhinos and cheetahs walking around in the snow... Koalas and giant pandas are animals you won't see in any European zoo - exciting. Looks pretty well kept. Info about the animals was easily found, and sufficient.
Been to the oldest zoo of europe and this was really a good surprise.
The animals are really beautiful and the cage spaces are adequated in my opinion; the aquatic area is a bit dark but really interesting.
The entrance price is a bit high but I hope it s worth to mantain and keep those animals protected and well...

This is a great zoo with numerous animals. Unlike many zoos in the world they donot charge extra to see other exotic animals. Entry to the aquarium, reptile exhibits, etc are included in the admission. The zoo also has over half dozen eating options including vegetarian ones. We were surprised to see vege burgers in the menu.
Huge, beautiful and well-maintained zoo. Plan lunch and rest, otherwise it is tiring. Buy tickets online - a weekend ticket line is very high. Never stop to eat at Café Hietzing - very bad service - slow, with multiple errors and as a result - missing food.
After 40 imperial rooms at Schonbrunn it was some welcome light relief. A pretty zoo in which it is nice to have a walk around. We went to Schonbrunn when it opened and went straight to the zoo. It was pretty quiet when we were there, but had long lines as we were leaving. First thing you have the place...

Place whwre can see animals in very human conditions. Pinguines place is really great. South American animals very interesting, tropical house is the best in Europe. Snakes separeted in other place, no fear for ladies.
This is a fantastic zoo and in my humble opinion should not be missed if you are in Vienna. The animals are extremely well taken care of and seem to be without a care in the world. You can see pandas, lions, tigers, jaguars, elephants, lots of birds, and tons of marine life. The zoo is beautiful and fits in...
