We were in Bregenz last summer. This spot was most enjoyable attraction. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the top of the hill by the cable car. They have small zoo and nice trails to walk around. The view of entire lake and Bregenz is superb. This is a must see place.

We were staying across the lake in Lindau, and had read here that the Pfanderbahn was worth going to, and boy were they right. It cost €17 to get a return ferry from Lindau and the cable car.

Wow - this is well worth the price! The cable car ride up takes about 5 minutes and what a breath-taking 5 minutes it is. Once at the top, you can see the Alps of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. You also have excellent views of the lake and the surrounding cities. Pfänderbahn is in Bregenz in the province of Vorarlberg, Western Austria, on the banks of Bodenzee (Lake Constance). Pfanderbahn takes you up an elevation of 1000m in a horizontal travel of almost 2km. A bus takes you from Bregenz Hauptbahnhof to the Pfänderbahn station.
