This was a perfect half day excursion. Moderate amount of hiking and more if you wish. Need warm clothes and good hiking shoes. Get the Salzburg card it definitely pays off. More

The view from the top is absolutely amazing. Went during May and there was still snow at the top so was fun to trek through the snow. Need to do this on a clear day - we had a beautiful sunny day and it was warm even in the snow. Get the Salzburg Card to save the €21 fee - although worth it anyway. More

It was a good excursion. Take the bus 25 from Mirabell Gardens or outside the old town and about 25 mins later you are at the Untersberg Cable Car ascent point (on the way you pass Hellbrunn). take bus 25 to the cable cart station, it's less than 30 mins from city center, make sure you get the Salzburg card for free transportation and entry view from up there is just stunnings More

The tavern at the top serves excellent food (not the cafe at the cable car station but the one a short distance above it). The proprietor has a charming sense of humour as well! More
