From the rather scary cable ride up the mountain, to the beautiful tour through the ice caves, this is a rather special experience. No photos allowed inside the caves, but you'll be grateful for not having flashes going off ruining the feel. The guide uses natural torches and the occassional magnesium strip to show off the wonders. Highly recommended. More

I agree with the other reviewers: the walk to the entrance to the caves can be a little strenuous. But, what most people are missing is that the mountain is around 1,500 meters above sea level... which means the oxygen is about 10-15% less than what it would be at sea level. We decided to walk from the car park, giving the cable car a miss. It was quite a walk, but manageable with jsut a little fitness. We were surprised how far those who paid for the cable car had to walk!!! The views on the walk were stunning, and even they were surpassed by the magnificence of the ice caves.... More

It is about a 20 min walk up to the cable car and then another 20 min walk up to the entrance. This is a fairly steep walk, but not too bad if you just take it slowly. Best to wear layers too which you can then put on when you are in the ice cave as it is zero... More
