Took a Sightseeing tour on a very comfortable bus from Vienna, visiting Baden, Mayerling,Heiligenkreuz(a medieval abbey,) then on to Seegrotte.Cost 44 euros. .(We did the same tour 8 years ago and it cost 39 euros then). The caves are a constant 9 degrees, so either take your coat or pay 50 cents for a blanket. You walk down a tunnel... More

I read on Seegrotte Hinterbruhl before my visit and did not set my expectations high of the lake-to-be. And yes, it turns out just eh. My 6-year-old son travelling with me enjoyed the place more than me, the dark and flooded place to have a brief boat trip in! I visited Seegrotte as part of a day trip that also visited the old Mayeiling hunting lodge in Baden where Rudolf killed himself and his lover. Most of it had been torn down and rebuilt as a convent. (Rudolf was Sisi's and Franz Josef's son) The trip also stopped at the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkrutz where the Babenburgers were buried.... More

its a very nice place to visit all year round if someone is staying in the city of Vienna for about 3 days or so.. If you are staying anywhere in Vienna, there are the suburban trains which take you directly to a station named Modling..this place is extremely well connected with trains running almost every 15 - 20 minutes..... More
