I visited the Avakas Gorge on the 4x4 Adventure Day with Thomson. It's stunningly beautiful and I really enjoyed my visit there. Beware those scared of snakes, our guide told us it's common to see snakes there. Luckily I braved it anyway and didn;t see a single snake. “Outstanding walk, hard work but well worth it”

This was one of our best walks ever! The gorge is very deep and narrow, with lots of interesting rock formations and vegetation. It was worth it just to see the mountain goats in their death-defying antics on high ledges. This is a great walk / scramble. If you have a car there is a big car park at the start of the gorge. Its probably best to go in a 4X4 mainly for the ground clearance ont he unmade roads. We went early because of the heat so we set off walking from the car park @7AM. As we... More

“Excellent hike”

Take non slip hiking shoes and be prepared to scramble over bolders, but the long trip into the gorge and across to Lara Bay is worth the effort! May be the best hike in Cyprus. More
