I remember being taken to the citadel by my parents when I was younger, and remember running up and down the old steps, through the arches and finding the cannons. I've wanted to go back ever since and I really enjoyed it. The views from the highest point were really impressive and it's full of little paths and steps which... More

Tremendous and commanding views from the ramparts. Really gives you a sense of being in that time. Take some time to take it all in, find a spot to relax and enjoy the view with a Cisk or Kinnie. More

Highest point on Gozo and from the top you can see virtually the whole island. Well worth the climb for the views alone, especially at sunset. The Cathedral and museums - several - are good too. Archaeological Museum in particular explains things very well. There are several places to eat and drink. More

Pretty location, free for strolling around and looking at the views. A few museums around to, which cost to go in, but quite a few things to do there. More

Lovely place. I'm not into churches, so I can't comment on the church up there. But the ruins of the old community are very atmospheric. I'd love somebody to do a 'Knossos' and reconstruct it. More

Definitely worth visiting. Interesting local history and a panoramic view almost over the whole island. Don't miss the traditional platter for two in restaurant Ta'Rikardu. More

This is a must see on Gozo, I have met many people who have been to Gozo and not bothered with it. Besides having some of the best views on the island it also tells the history of this unique place and it's many inhabitants through time. We had intended to spend an hour or so here and ended up... It's a bit of an effort to travel by bus to Cirkewwa, catch the ferry and take another bus to Victoria, but the journey itself can be rather enjoyable. Don't let the tour operators put you off as it is far more rewarding to walk around the Citadel on your own. When we visited, there was a fresh howling wind... More

I love visiting the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo. Walking around the little maze of alleyways and under the arches of old limestone is a lovely way to spend the time . Some walls & paths look almost derelict and have prickly pear plants growing amongst them. The views from the top are superb. As well as the beautiful architecture there... More
