I'm a local, but this is a fantastic exhibit. I wasn't expecting much, but the interactive displays are extremely informative about the live of the vikings and the whole experience was something that I wouldn't mind repeating. This is located right downtown and I love the way they left the archaeology intact for people to be able to see it.... More

We called in to see what the exhibition was like but due to the arrivel of 2 busloads of tourists at the same time,we had coffee and cake in the very nice cafe and moved on.I'm sure it would have been very interesting though. More

This is a small museum centered around the remains of a house found here in the center of Reykjavik. The exhibits explain the house's layout as well as how people lived during the early years of settlement in Iceland. Like other reviewers have said, you don't need to budget a lot of time for this attraction, but if you are... More

Very interesting but don`t plan your day around it. Was probably in and out in 45 minutes. I think I spent half that time on the language history which I liked. More

My boyfriend and I went into this museum primarily to seek warmth from the cold wind and rain, but quite enjoyed it ( although, since it was the day of our arrival from Toronto, it meant that we had missed a night of sleep, and i did doze off during one of the short films). It is a very high... More

Wonderful exhibit in Reykjavik documenting how settlers first came to Iceland. It's a small exhibit and you won't need more than 45 min there, and it will be well worth your time. Their approach to documenting and displaying a house from that time period was unique and very interesting. Cute gift shop as well with unique gifts More

Small but interactive exhibit built around the remains of a viking long house. Worth the small admission fee. More

A really well presented and informative exhibition of the archaological find of the early settlers in Iceland and their way of life. It's not boring or stuffy at all! More

This exhibit is free! It is a great way to get a feel for Iceland and what life was originally like way back when. It is extremely high tech and quite interactive. Plan on spending at least an hour. It is located directly underneath Hotel Centrum and is a GREAT rainy day activity or perfect to do if you find... More
