I was disappointed as I was expecting much more and better exhibits from the rich finnish designers. Some interesting pieces, but for the most part there were ongoing projects and future trends. Save yourself 8 € per head, and visit the shops in the design district. More

The design museum has a very interesting exhibition on design in the new world. The exhibition is very well done and is part of the Helsinki World Design Capital year program. I especially liked the way they had made simple things look so good. The exhibition is on until mid May More

You would think that Design Museum in Helsinki would be great, considering all the great design Finland has to offer. You won't find it here, though. This place probably was founded with great ambitions, but ran out of money or something. More

Fabulous design museum for aficionados of mid-century modern design as well as for people interested in Finnish craft and design traditions. The collection is excellent and it is beautifully displayed in both permanent and temporary exhibitions. They have periodic events for families and children. Worth seeing. More

Other reviewers here highlight the small-ness of the museum and the boring-ness of the displays. I tend to disagree. The museum has three floors, the main floor has the permanent collection that shows the history of Finnish design over time. For me, this was really interesting, although the explanation could be better here and there. Collection was quite broad: furniture,... More

I had high hopes, but Wasa dissapointed. The museum is relatively small. The exhibitions are somewhat dull. And 95% of What's exhibited is glass design. You need to really love glass design before this place might be of interest to you. If not, don't bother. More

We were hoping to get some great insights into the famous Finnish design culture and history. This museum only has two (2) floors where only the ground floor is used for a sparse exhibition of designer goods from the 1930-50's period. There really is no major mentioning of the famous designers like Aalto, etc - - so why pay the... More
