I first visited the museum in 1998 and again in 1999...Since then I have only had 1 or 2 opportunities to 'end up' in Helsinki...but it is a special part of any visit...and illustrates the influences of the swedish/Finnish immigrants, in nUSA, over the past 200 years (almost haha). This park-like museum displays various habitations from various areas throughout Finland. For Finns, they are all representative of various areas of the country. For foreigners, they all seem to be log cabins with mostly thatched roofs. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the Finnish woodland environment.

I'm not sure, wheter it was because we visited the place in beginning May, there might be open houses during summer months....

These have been brought from all around Finland. Partly forest, it has numerous, quite tame red...
