This island is museum, they have moved lot's of old (historical) Finnish houses and barns from different part of Finland. Here you can see how Finnish people lived during years of 1600 - 1800

Loved the island and the traditional houses in a nice Scandinavian forest. The place is free, you can walk around for hours, look at the houses, the nature and animals. Just be careful of the ice hehe It's easy to get there from the city too; there's a tram stop that's very close to the island.

Unbelievable beaudiful small houses located in the forest, very exciting. Many birds living in this island, don't need to buy any ticket.

Seurasaari Island provides a nice view on how Finnish people lived in various parts of the country. Wooden huts, houses and manors give an authentic cross-section of typical housing up to the 1950's in the countryside. I guess the good time to visit it is summer, may be autumn. We visited it with tourist group just after New Year's Day. Some places were nice decorated in New Year and Cristmas style.
