Really interesting visit - easy from Helsinki, perfect for a longish half day. You learn a lot about the history and also Finnish relationships with Sweden and Russia. Go in the summer and take a picnic. More

You can easily spend a few hours walking around the fortress...it's only 15 min by ferry from the Helsinki market square and u can just walk in and buy the tickets for 5euros. There is a ferry leaving every 15 or 20 mins More
