We saw Die Fledermaus and had a great time. The singing, staging and orchestra were outstanding. The pit is almost entirely exposed, which I loved, since I could watch the musicians as well as the stage. It is a small house, with but 13 rows in the stalls. We sat stage left, first row, in the 2nd of the 3... More

If you like opera--go see a performance. If you don't like opera, just take a tour. It is a beautiful space.

The Stockholm Opera is from the 18th century and famous for being the place where the Swedish king Gustavus the 3rd was killed in at a masquerade ball in 1792 (a bad period for kings in Europe). He lingered on for a couple of weeks but could not make it. It is said that the man who fired the shot... More

I went to see Sleeping Beauty at the opera house. The setting is very intimate. My seat was quite close to the stage which was a different experience. The performance was world class.

Even if you don't fancy opera, the building itself is worth a visit. Situated close to the water and Berzeli Park it offers you a good starting point for further exploration of Stockholm

This old building must be one of Europe's treasures. We saw the Swedish version of the Nutcracker there. The Swedish folktale of the 3 aunts set to the music of the Nutcrackers. Great choreographry in general but for me the dance of the ginger bread dolls was the highlight.

We really only visited the cafe which was buzzing and very atmospheric. The coffee and food are fine; not brilliant, not bad. There was a short choral performance in the lobby as we enjoyed a coffee and it was a most pleasant way to relax to 20 minutes before continuing the sight seeing

The opera and the ballet perform here. Beautiful! If you stand in line at the box office 1 hour before the show you can purchase 1.2 price tickets. I saw the ballet, Sleeping Beauty, here.
