It's easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of museums in Stockholm. I know we did. I had studied Gustavus Adolphus in college and we happened to be by the palace so we went to the Armoury museum by chance. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the stuff they had in here and they went to... More

I was looking at the items in the gift shop and a woman who worked there was telling me I had to buy a ticket in a very brusque manner. I told her I would but was looking at the items they sold and would buy one when I finished. She was rude to everyone, not just me. She was... More

This place actually held some really beautiful things. The suits of armour were very impressive and the clothes too.. I dont think many people realised either that on the ground floor they had a floor dedicated to the most amazing coaches! I dont understand why they put them in the basement where the toilets were.. so if you are going... More

This museum is a must to visit if you're interested in history. Here you can see the clothes worn by Kings Gustav II Adolf, Karl XII and Gustav III on the nights they were killed and much more. My favourite museum in Stockholm. More

We visited in July 2011, having read good reviews in Rick Steve's books. The museum was cool, dark, quiet, and had nice bathrooms! A gift shop with excellent English spoken (which seemed to be normal for Stockholm). This is a great stop while you are waiting for the changing of the guard, or right after. And it is convenient when... More

Lots of royal carriages, including the coronation carriage, are displayed. There are also other items of historical significance- military armor, the costume worn by an assassinated king, a stuffed horse and many other interesting items. Great to see if you want to learn about Swedish history, including the current monarch. There is an exhibit that explains the family history of... More

This museum contains a lot of original thing from the Swedish royal history. You''ll be able to see all from stuffed battle horses to pistols and clothes involved in the assassinations of kings. However, if you're not into Swedish history this museum might not be so fascinating even if the museum provides signs telling the story. If you're going to... More
